Along with Gandhi Nagar and Ramapuram, this neighbourhood is close to Ekkaduthangal.The Chennai Trade Centre, the first fair facility for the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) outside of Delhi, was opened in Nandambakkam in January 2001. The location is one of Tamil Nadu's 163 megalithic sites that have been notified. The first Metro line in Chennai that travels to Nandambakkam is the GREEN LINE.
