Thiruvananthapuram is also called Trivandrum. It is capital to the State of Kerala and had a population estimated at 957,730 people as of the year 2011. It is also home to the Indian Air Force’s Southern Command headquarters along with the Vizhinjam International Seaport and the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station. The Thiruvananthapuram municipal corporation is the main governing authority for the area. The coordinates of Thiruvananthapuram are 08°29′15″N 76°57′9″E.
