Thakur Wara Sohna was a village located in the Hisar district of the Haryana state in India. It was one of the ancient villages of the district, and its inhabitants were mostly agriculturists who supported themselves by farming and dairy activities. The village was surrounded by arid fields and dry grasslands. The village had its own economy, and the people were very proud of their culture and heritage. They were mainly Hindus who revered the gods and goddesses of Hinduism. The village had a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, where the people would offer their prayers every morning. The village was also famous for its hospitality and its people had a strong sense of unity. Everyone was friendly and welcoming towards the outsiders and had a warm and hospitable attitude towards them. The village was also known for its delicious local cuisine which included dishes like pakora, kadhi and the famous sweet dish known as 'Thakur Wara'. Inhabitants of Thakur Wara Sohna were very hard working and committed to their agriculture and dairy activities. They would work very hard to ensure that their crops were of the highest quality and their dairy products were amongst the best in the district. The village was known for its melas (fairs) and festivals which were held annually in the village and people from all over the district would come to witness it. This not only provided an opportunity for the people to celebrate but also for the village to promote its culture and heritage. The village of Thakur Wara Sohna is now mostly abandoned and the inhabitants have moved to nearby cities in search of better opportunities. The village is now in a state of disrepair and the temple is no longer in use. Although one can still feel the strong presence of the former inhabitants of the village, the echoes of the past can no longer be heard. Read More
